Level 3 Award in the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment from City & Guilds ( 2377-22) and EAL (600/4340/4) commonly referred as PAT Testing gives learners an understanding of theory and practice of the in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipments. This qualification is for those who wish to carry out formal visual inspections, and inspections and tests of electrical equipment or electricians who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills those who wish to pursue a career in the electrotechnical / building services sector.
This is 1 day classroom based course which covers the skills and knowledge required to carry out the in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment. This Award has one unit which covers: statutory and non-statutory requirements, electrical units, equipment construction, inspection and testing theory, practical inspection and testing of equipment and completion of documentation. 3. Insulation and earthing
4. Classification of appliances
5. Preliminary inspection, test precautions
6. Using a Portable Appliance Tester
7. Essential tests
8. Optional tests
9. Labelling tests

Followed by numerous practice questions to boost confidence and get the students familiarise with the exam methodology.
At the end of the course there is an open book multiple choice online exam.
There are no formal requirements to enrol for the course but we insist the students should have keen interest in electrical technology and should be able to understand and communicate in English.

Upon successful completion of it students will receive a Level 3 certificate which will help the learners to work as a qualified electrician. This certification is recognised across many industries, including:
