Course Introduction

KE Training is accredited to offer Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Experienced Worker qualification for the learners who have been working in the electrical industry for more than 5 years as Installation Electrician and want to achieve ECS Gold card. NVQ Level 3 qualification is mainly completed on-site and remaining at the training centre which involves producing a portfolio. Candidates are required to work on-site at a work placement to show their electrotechnical competency by completing Electrical installations on the site.

How to get started?

On the first day of the course, candidates will be assigned an assessor. The assessor will go through the portfolio with the candidate informing them about the requirements that need to be met to complete this qualification. As well as completing the portfolio candidates will need to carry out the installation at a work placement. The work placement will help to gather evidence for the portfolio. During the work placement, the assessor will have 2 on-site visits to assess the progress of the candidate and make sure that they are on course to complete their portfolio.

Course Structure

The course is made up of knowledge and performance units which cover the flowing topics:

  • Applying health and safety legislation,
  • Environmental technology systems,
  • Overseeing and organising the work environment
  • Planning, preparing, and installing electrical systems and equipment,
  • Terminating and connecting conductors, cables, and flexible cords,
  • Inspecting, testing, commissioning and
  • Fault diagnosis and correction

Assessment Details

The course would have a mixture of on-screen, written, and practical exams

Entry Requirements

Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the electrical industry and have previous qualifications.
