This course will cover the following units: 1. Understand the general requirements of BS 5839-1. 2. Understand the design considerations for fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings. 3. Understand the requirements in relation to the responsibility for the limitation of false alarms and unwanted fire alarm signals. 4. Understand requirements of BS 5839-1 in relation to the installation of fire detection and fire alarm systems. 5. Understand the requirements of BS 5839-1 in relation to the commissioning and handover of fire detection and fire alarm systems. 6. Understand the requirements of BS 5839-1 in relation to the maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems. 7. Understand the requirements of BS 5839-1 in relation to the user’s responsibilities of fire detection and fire alarm systems. 8. Understand the information contained within the annexes of BS 5839-1. |
